Now Tea Commerce Gate fits squarely in the bubble tea café scene, nestled in a busy Thornhill plaza that hosts several competitors but still manages to carve out its own subtle niche. Located at 505 Hwy 7 unit 61-63, this spot caters to tea lovers looking for something more nuanced than standard chain offerings, with a menu that leans heavily into traditional tea varieties like tieguanyin and oolong, as well as more playful options like lychee qq and grapefruit slush.

The atmosphere inside Now Tea tends to be cozy and casual, with a layout that encourages lingering—there’s ample seating scattered around which makes it practical not just for quick takeout, but for hanging out or even studying, as long as you're prepared for a noticeably warm and slightly humid environment. The music vibe alternates between Mandopop and upbeat EDM, adding a gentle buzz that keeps things lively without overpowering conversation or concentration.

Local regulars seem to appreciate the balance of traditional tea flavors with creative milk tea lattes and floats. The tieguanyin milk tea stands out for its authentic taste, and the fresh milk options—like the pearl latte with brown sugar tapioca—hit a satisfying sweetness level without feeling syrupy. Those who favor lactose-free or milk substitute options will find a thoughtful selection here, which is a welcome plus in an area crowded with bubble tea shops that often offer less variety on that front.

Now Tea suits a range of visitors: from early-morning commuters grabbing a matcha latte or coffee before work, to afternoon visitors seeking a refreshing rose oolong milk tea with chewy pearls, to tea enthusiasts who prefer ordering the Tea Trio with no added sugar for a cleaner, more delicate experience. The shop encourages a slower pace than some busier chains, inviting customers to enjoy the textural contrast of jellies and toppings like aloe vera, taro balls, or cheese foam.

The best time to stop by is during weekday mid-mornings or early afternoons when the place is easy to settle into. While the warm interior might feel a bit snug in summer, it adds to the intimate café vibe during colder months. The friendly staff often take the time to recommend drinks based on your taste preferences, adding a personal touch that fights the anonymous feel common to larger bubble tea franchises.

In a neighborhood where bubble tea options abound, Now Tea Commerce Gate quietly stands out by respecting tea traditions while providing enough customization and comfort to make it a regular visit for locals who want quality without pretense.

Very underrated bubble tea spot in a very busy plaza with several other bubble tea spots. Now Tea offers the same flavours and has the perfect atmosphere to enjoy your drink. Pearl milk is my favourite. Great flavour and just the right amount of sweetness

Wonderful bubble tea spot! Now Tea has a cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating all around to hang out. They either play Mandopop jams or they have upbeat EDM, which are all quite nice. If you’re looking to study, definitely have some noise canceling headphones/earbuds though. The inside is actually very warm/humid, more that any regular restaurant or shop—which is very unexpected (especially in the winter). I haven’t been here in the summer, so I wouldn’t be able to tell you how the temperature changes it, but they are blasting that heat in the winter for sure. The staff are all polite and pretty chill. They are studying or playing on their phones during downtimes, but immediately get up for service if there are customers. The drinks are pretty good overall. One of the rare few places that carry hojicha, which I’m happy about! Oolongs are always a good choice and they are pretty good quality. I recommend going for 50% sugar ideally for all drinks, as 25% actually feels like too little. Sometimes the low sugar levels can impact the taste of the tea, as was the case for when I got the hojicha tea latte. The hojicha at 25% sugar tasted kinda watery, while 50% was much better. It’s possible it may have just been the day I got the 25% they added less hojicha, but I’m not going to risk it haha The bubble tea here hasn’t gotten price hiked as much as your Cocos or Chatimes, floating around $5 for regular sized drinks, $6 for large. Definitely recommend dropping by for a great hangout spot with fairly priced drinks!

Great unique drinks. Please support this small business!! Hope it expands. It’s a good alternative to larger chains like Chatime or Coco.

I often stop by this café before work to grab a coffee or a matcha latte, and it never disappoints. Their Matcha Mango Latte is especially delicious! The staff here are so friendly and welcoming — today they even recommended some of their favorite drinks to me. The service is always excellent, and the quality of the coffee is top-notch. Highly recommend!

Sometimes when you have too many options, you just don’t know where to go. That’s the case for BBT places at Commerce Gate. Most places don’t have milk substitutes or lactose-free options but Now Tea does! I got the Rose Oolong milk tea with pearls and it was really good! The pearls were soft but chewy and the tea was sweet enough that you didn’t need to add sugar. The only feedback I’d say is for hot drinks, it might be good to use another cup with a lid because the drink was pretty hot and drinking it out of a plastic straw just seemed a little risky :) All in all, I’m going back to try their other drinks!

My go to is the jasmine green milk tea with tapioca — one of the few places that offer brown sugar pearls and were the right chewiness. My friends were visiting and so I took them here for a treat. They ordered the Tieguanyin milk tea with grass jelly and osmanthus milk tea with taro balls and they both liked their drinks very much.

Cute bubble tea shop really nicely decorated. Doesn’t seem to have as many options as other now tea locations, my favourite cranberry basil was not on the menu. But the drink I did get was still delicious. I got the grapefruit green tea. Tapioca was made very well.
